Whether you're an experienced interior designer with years of knowledge and expertise behind you, or a newly qualified designer, looking for extra information and a little help in getting started, Interior Design Insiders is a great place to meet like-minded people, great friends and genuinely kind and caring colleagues.
Interior Design Insiders is a brand new community, set up by Lisa Honiball of Honey Interior Design and is run on the Mighty Networks forum.
Lisa came up with the idea after years of experiencing how closed off many interior designers can be when it comes to sharing information such as pricing and sourcing; and, having struggled herself in the early days to begin her business from scratch without any guidance from more experienced designers, Lisa decided it was time for a change.
Interior Design Insiders aims to break down the barriers between interior designers by offering a place for us all to go, no matter our level of experience; knowing that we are in the company of fellow designers who are willing to share this kind of information with others in order to help one another to grow and thrive.
Lisa took on a number of founder members when she started the membership, with the view that they could help her to shape the community in its early days by offering suggestions for the future, as well as helping her to find members - and start off the group with a strong foundation of friendly and approachable people; and as one of those founder members, I can tell you that this core team of designers are the loveliest, kindest and most generous people I have met in the interiors world so far!
Lisa opened the doors last week for any designer who wishes to join her network. Membership will be a monthly fee of £40, but don't worry - if you can't afford that every month, the fee is a 'pay as you go' kind of deal; if you can't afford it one month, just come back when you can and we'll all be waiting for you! There will be courses - some of which will be an extra cost if you wish to take them - and regular zoom chats with experts from various backgrounds, such an insurance brokers, magazine writers and stylists. All chats are then stored on the network for you to catch up on if you couldn't make them live.
Lisa also runs a brilliantly helpful pricing workshop, which seems to be a sticking point for most designers - new and old; the information you'll get from the group is valuable and will only grow as the community progresses. Not only that, but you can visit the group whenever you like, to chat - and posts are filed under various topics, making it easier to find the information you need.
We also arrange to meet up at various design events, so we can get to know one another in person. It's great fun and so lovely to be in the company of so many like-minded people, having a good time, enjoying a common interest and learning about one another's styles and businesses.
Take a look at the Instagram page and if you like what you see, come and join us via the link on the bio; I promise, you won't regret it!
We look forward to getting to know you!
Thanks for reading and I hope we see you soon...
